Mitchell’s Coffee House was founded in Lakeland, Florida, in the late 90s and prides itself as the downtown area’s first coffee shop of many. Switching ownership, they reached out to Carroll Design Co. to provide a new look and branding that honored the shop’s past.

The logo kept the same structure with updated fonts and colors, while the branding leaned into the shop’s dark, moody atmosphere. While the overall aesthetic was inspired by the coffee shops from 90s TV shows like “How I Met Your Mother” and “Friends.”

Brand Photography
Rich and dark—like a warm cup of coffee—with high contrast and low saturation, the photos I directed for Mitchell’s Coffee House showcase exactly how it feels when you walk into their shop: welcomed by friendly faces and comforted by good food. The final editing has a slight grain, rich blacks, and a warm filter to reflect film photography.
