In 2024, Carrol Design Co. was approached to brand a new coffee shop in Lakeland, FL, Pour Bear Coffee. Jordan, the owner, wanted to have a unique coffee shop that would sell vintage furniture and decor and feel like you stepped into your (cool) grandma’s home—a time capsule of 60’s and 70’s knick-knacks and orange and green sofas.
Working heavily with Jordan, who brought us the name, I started the process by researching themes and trends from the 60’s and 70’s. Working as both Creative Director of my copywriting and photography team, and designer, Carroll Design Co. developed the slogan “A Rich Kind of Pour,” along with the brand, website design and content, and a branded photo shoot.

I heavily value authenticity, which Jordan and I fully embraced while creating Pour Bear’s branding. Gathering as many vintage items as he could, Jordan even found wallpaper from the 1970’s to use in the shop that matched the color palette I created. When concepting the brand photography, I suggested using film and Jordan was, of course, completely on board. My husband is a photographer and film enthusiast, so it was only natural I work with him to bring my vision for the photoshoot to life. Using our own 1966 Ford Mustang, we spent time on site at Pour Bear capturing all the vintage vibes.
